Care and Feeding
Bead embroidery:
The bead embroidery pieces are made with beads of all sorts, from natural stone, pearls to glass and metal. They are sewn with nylon beading thread to a stabilizer and then backed with ultra suede and occasionally leather or suede. They must not get wet, and I would store flat.
Antiqued Brass
This is considered a base metal. I buy nickel free, but for those with metal sensetivities I cannot guarantee you won't react to these findings. I can substiute in some styles, Sterling Silver or Surgical steel. Please contact me.
These findings over time will develop a "patina" . Some people like the aged look. But you can always wash with a mild soap and dry with a soft cloth.
Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is a mixture of silver and other metals (usually copper, aluminum or zinc) to make it more durable for jewelry making. This metal will tarnish over time with exposure to air and moisture. I reccomend cleaning them with a "Sunshine Cloth" specifically made for cleaning silver. Do not use paper towels on silver it will pit the silver and cause it to discolor over time.
Silver Plate
Silver Plate is exactly what it sounds like. A thin later of silver plated over a base metal. My findings are silver plated brass. This too will tarnish over time and the Sunshine cloth works great.
Surgical Steel
This is a hypoallergenic metal that people with metal sensativities usually don't have a problem. Just clean with some mild soapy water and wipe with a soft cloth.
